How-to guide to concert photography

Adrian posted this a few days ago, but I’m just getting around to posting it here.

After much poking and prodding and threats of him moving to South Africa (which actually happened), he got me to share some tips, techniques and thoughts on how I go about shooting photos during concerts. To be honest, most of the credit goes to him, as I was a bit sidetracked by all the events of the past two months. He was the one who pulled it all together and added most of the content (all while packing for said move); I just added my two cents here and there.

Flaming Lips @ 2007 Southern Comfort Music Experience

The Black Keys confirmed for San Diego SoCo Music Experience, August 23rd

According to a press release I got this morning, The Black Keys have been confirmed to play the San Diego version of the Southern Comfort Music Experience. The event will take place August 23rd at the Ace Parking Lot at Petco Park (same place as last year).

Acts confirmed for other cities include Queens of the Stone Age (Atlanta), Ghostland Observatory (Atlanta), Ryan Shaw (Atlanta), Gnarls Barkley (Denver), Bassnectar (Denver).

I had a blast last year (you can see the photos here), and will almost assuredly be there again next year. Especially if I’ve got a photo pass…
